Grade 7: Salary in range £33,309 - £40,927 per annum. Apply by May 19th.

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Chemical Epigenetics to join Dr Chunxiao Song’s research group at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Oxford Branch.

You will be responsible for the management of your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols along with testing hypotheses and analysing scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate. You will develop ideas for generating research income, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers. You will also be representing the research group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone.

It is essential that you hold or are close to completion of a PhD in Chemistry/Chemical biology or a related science degree. You will have strong skill set in synthetic chemistry/chemical biology techniques. Experience in nucleic acid chemistry and of communicating results clearly and logically as part of a diverse research team is also required. At least one peer-reviewed first author research publication in a relevant subject (e.g. chemistry/chemical biology/epigenetics) in high impact science journals is essential.
