Applicants are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Scientist in Hypoxia Biology to work on the biology of syndromic kidney cancer within the Oxford Hypoxia Biology Laboratory led by Professor Sir Peter Ratcliffe, which is part of the Oxford Branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.
You will join a team that is investigating familial kidney cancer syndromes; in particular von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease and hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cancer (HLRCC), which are caused by mutations in the von Hippel-Lindau ubiquitin E3 ligase (pVHL) and Krebs Cycle enzyme fumarate hydratase (FH), respectively.
You will have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline with experience in molecular and cellular biology. The work is problem orientated and will encompass a range of techniques as scientifically appropriate, including the development, validation and analysis of cellular and animal models and the study of human material. Specific training and experience will be provided in both in situ analyses of tissue and in single-cell genomic analyses.
