We are seeking to appoint a Scientific Data Manager to join the Ludwig Institute at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
As the Scientific Data Manager, you will put systems in place to deal with the current challenge of managing data and metadata. This will involve the development of a metadata storage database and managing data transfer, and the security and governance of data. You will help to implement and further develop the Ludwig Information Governance and Security strategy. As part of this, you will also help to develop a system to gather and store metadata for data generated by and held within the Ludwig Institute. You will be supported by the wider administrative team at the Ludwig, as well as by our in-house data processing team, and you will work closely with computational scientists at the Institute, and foster links to the experimental groups that are generating the data.
It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant subject such as biology or another quantitative science. You will have experience of Information Governance in a clinical or research setting and have previous experience with large-scale data management, preferably in a research environment.
You will have excellent communication and organization skills, a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a service-oriented approach to interactions with others.
This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 3 years and is funded by Ludwig.
Applications are to be made online by 12.00 noon (UK time) on Tuesday 4 April 2023.
