A data figure showing that that most mutational processes, represented by “mutational signatures”, are unevenly distributed on the two DNA strands depending on whether they were replicated as the leading or the lagging strand.In Part (a), the difference of matching and inverse exposure is computed for each tumour sample and mutational signature. For each signature, the median value of these differences (in samples exposed to this signature) is plotted against -log10 q-value. In total, 21 out of 29 signatures exhibited significant replication strand asymmetryIn part (b), percentage of samples that have higher matching than inverse exposure to the signature denoted above/below each bar. All but 5 samples have more matching than inverse exposure.
