Research interests

The cancer-immunity cycle has become the intellectual framework for cancer immunotherapy research. Epigenetic mechanisms are critical for many processes in the cancer–immunity cycle; thus, exploring epigenetic regulation may provide new insights to develop attractive targets to improve the existing immunotherapy. In the Shi lab, I will study the mechanisms of epigenetic control in T cell exhaustion and immune aging.

Background

I received my PhD from Shanghai Institute of Immunology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University under the supervision of Prof. Liufu Deng in 2021. In my Ph.D. project, I investigated how tumor cell-intrinsic necroptotic signaling contributes to radiation-induced antitumor immunity. I found ZBP1-MLKL necroptotic signaling potentiates radiation-induced antitumor immunity via STING-dependent mtDNA sensing.
