Grade 5: £28,759 - £33,966 with a discretionary range to £37,099 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Laboratory and Histology Support Technician to join our fantastic laboratory support team providing key support to the Institute’s researchers at the Ludwig Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine.
 
You will be reporting to the Senior Laboratory Manager and will be working alongside the Senior Laboratory Manager on projects in the Institute, taking sole responsibility where appropriate. You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Laboratory Manager in dealing with suppliers and engineers regarding faulty equipment and service contracts, with particular responsibility for the Histology equipment. You will also be supporting the Senior Histology Technician (sectioning, slide preparation etc.) as well as assisting the Laboratory Manager to oversee all the Institute's radiation work.
 
To be successful in this role, you will be educated to A Level standard or equivalent, along with experience of laboratory support in a life science lab, and the awareness and knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements in scientific research. You will have the flexibility to work independently and as part of a team, being highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
