World Cancer Day, the initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), takes place on the 4th February and the 2025-2027 theme is 'united by unique'.
Group leaders and leadership fellows at both Ludwig Oxford and the Centre for Immuno-Oncology (CIO) have come together to consider how their cutting edge cancer research fits within this theme, and how the work being done may shape patient care over the next decade.
These early-career researchers share the challenges they are trying to address in their work, and how this research fits within the World Cancer Day theme 'united by unique'. The scientists also explain how they hope their work will impact patients and patient care over the next ten years.
Ludwig Oxford's Marketa Tomkova - a leadership fellow who started her research group in 2023 tells us more about her research in three themed videos below.
To find out more about Marketa's research, please see her group page for a research overview. Further information about the CIO researchers who have joined Marketa in discussing their research can be found at the Centre for Immuno-Oncology website.
