Research Grade 9: £55,636.00- £64,228.00 with a discretionary range to £72,079.00 p.a. This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per year.
We have a opportunity for a Group Leader with research interests in paediatric brain tumours through the development of preclinical models to join the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM).
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of gaining external funding to support their work and have prior experience in the supervision of postgraduate researchers and graduate students. They should also possess well-established local, national and international collaborative relationships that complement and synergize with their core expertise. The successful candidate should have established an international reputation in their field.
As a team leader at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at Oxford, you will develop an effective, productive research group, supervise postgraduate researchers and graduate students and form productive collaborations. You will receive mentorship from senior group leaders within the Ludwig Institute and the wider Oxford community.
With a relevant PhD/DPhil with significant post-qualification research experience, it is essential that you possess sufficient specialist knowledge in in-vivo models of cancer, brain tumours, paediatric cancers, cancer epigenetics, tumour microenvironment interactions, single-cell and spatial analyses of tumour development, the role of tumour heterogeneity in disease dissemination and the development of treatment resistance, in order to develop research programmes and methodologies in line with these.
