Brian Debo

Shi Laboratory Manager

In addition to managing Prof Yang Shi's research group, I study epigenetic mechanisms of T cell dysfunction arising in cancer, broadly described as T cell exhaustion. My aim is to identify targetable epigenetic factors in T cells that when perturbed, lead to enhanced antitumour functionality, and prevent or reverse the exhaustion phenotype.  Through in vitro T cell screens, functionality assays, in vivo tumour models, and novel method development, I aim to identify mechanisms that lead to transformative improvements in adoptive cellular therapies.
