Research interests

I am undertaking a DPhil investigating the Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine, which is primarily used to immunise against tuberculosis but is also used as an immunotherapy to prevent tumour recurrence in bladder cancer.  I am involved in a clinical study following patients getting this treatment for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. My research aims to contribute to understanding why some patients respond to this treatment while others do not and if there is a way to predict who will respond. I am particularly interested in the epigenetic changes induced by BCG and how these may relate to treatment success in bladder cancer.

Background

My research is funded by Cancer Research UK as part of their DPhil Cancer Science programme. Prior to starting at the Ludwig Institute, I studied Medicine for four years at Oxford University and will complete my final two years after my DPhil.
