Research Interests

My research focuses on understanding the role of epigenetic modifications and RNA modifications in cancer cells. I use computational tools to assess the contribution of these chemical modifications in transformed cells in cancer, and I am particularly interested in understanding how these epigenetic and epitranscriptomic modifiers can be exploited for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Background

I obtained my PhD in Computer Science at the University of Essex in 2023, where I worked on an interdisciplinary project about applying machine learning algorithms to explore the age prediction accuracy limit from DNA methylation data and studying the mechanisms that drive epigenetic age acceleration. I was also interested in developing novel bioinformatic methods and tools.
