A new player in regulation of immune signalling
6 September 2016
A new study in Molecular Cell by the group of Mads Gyrd-Hansen and their collaborators in Cambridge, UK, adds a new piece to the complex jigsaw of proteins that regulate immune signalling. They show how a protein called SPATA2 is crucial for regulation of ubiquitination - a process that links small protein ‘blocks’ together to form molecular signals - by bringing together enzymes that add and remove ubiquitin.
