On Saturday 8th September 2018 12.30-3 pm, the Old Road Campus Research Building (ORCRB), housing the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, the Jenner Institute and the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) will open to the public as part of the Oxford Open Doors scheme run by the Oxford Preservation Trust.

Getting to the ORCRB

A map of the Old Road Campus showing the location of the Old Road Campus Research Building (ORCRB; OX3 7DQ)The event will take place in the Old Road Campus Research Building, off Roosevelt Drive (the Green building), OX3 7DQ. The building is easily accessible via public transport connections, as summarised below. Upon arrival, please report to the reception desk.

By rail

The Old Road Campus Research Building is roughly 5 miles from Oxford railway station, with its frequent trains from London Paddington and many other parts of the UK. Allow 15 to 20 minutes by taxi from the station. For more information, please contact National Rail Enquiries.

By bus

  • 900 bus service from Thornhill Park and Ride – Approximately 15 minutes travel time.
  • 700 bus service from Oxford Parkway - Approximately 30 minutes travel time.
  • 4A/B/C service from Oxford City Centre and U5 Brookes Bus from Oxford City Centre/Marston stops a 5 minute walk from the Old Road Campus Site. Passengers should alight at the Lime Walk stop.

 

 

By road

From the east:

On M40 alight at Junction 8 or 8A, following the A40 then A420 to Headington. Follow signs to Churchill Hospital/ Old Road Campus.

From the north:

On M40 alight at Junction 9, taking the A34 then A40 northern ring road.  Turn off for Marston (B4150), then head towards Headington and follow signs to Churchill Hospital/Old Road Campus.

From the south and west:

Approach from the A4142 eastern ring road and take the B4495 towards Headington following signs to Churchill Hospital/Old Road Campus.

Parking

Parking will be available on campus for the duration of your visit to the ORCRB free of charge. The parking is in the gravelled area, as indicated by the orange rectangle on the map. (Note: There is also parking on the hospital grounds opposite the Old Road Campus Research Building. However, parking charges will apply.) Please note down your car registration number at reception upon arrival at the ORCRB.
