Ludwig Oxford researcher volunteers at the 2019 Oncology UNIQ summer school

UNIQ is a scheme operated by the University of Oxford to give participants a taste of Oxford undergraduate life. Students in the first year of further education from UK state schools/colleges are eligible to apply for a variety of courses in different subject areas. The Oncology course was run from 21st-25th July and comprised lectures, seminars, and practical sessions to teach students about cellular and cancer biology, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, epidemiology, immunotherapy and clinical trials.

Carol Leung - Senior Immunologist – Cancer Vaccine Programme

Carol Leung from Benoit Van den Eynde’s laboratory held tutorials with small groups of students to explore the differences between immunotherapy and chemotherapy for treating cancer. She also explained about exciting new research in the Van den Eynde lab to develop the next generation of cancer vaccines.
