£32,332 - £38,205 with a discretionary range to £41,732 p.a. (pro rata)

We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant with computational skills and the biological understanding of cancer-causing pathogens to work on computational analysis at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, University of Oxford under the joint supervision of Professor Xin Lu and Professor Benjamin Schuster-Boeckler.
 
In this role your duties will include providing statistical analysis plans for studies and handling day-to-day planning to keep the work on track and efficient, and performing integrative analysis of single-cell RNA and ATAC seq data. To support the research endeavours effectively, you will develop or customise analytical tools and resources in collaboration with other team members and attend scientific seminars, meetings and training as appropriate.
 
It is essential that you hold a degree in a life science or computational subject, together with demonstrable experience and ability in biostatistics or bioinformatics. You will also have previous experience in a laboratory research setting, and knowledge of techniques including but not limited to PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, western blots, and cell culture. The ability to organise and prioritise work efficiently whilst delivering results to the required standard and to an agreed schedule is also essential in this role.
