Chiara Grelloni

Post-doctoral Fellow

RESEARCH INTERESTS

As an RNA biologist, I am particularly interested in understanding how co-transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms regulate RNA fate in cells. Specifically, I investigate how chemical modifications on transcripts impact key steps of RNA life, such as splicing and translation, and how these regulatory mechanisms contribute to tumour progression and immunogenicity.

BACKGROUND

After obtaining a BSc in Biotechnology and an MSc in Medical Biotechnology, I completed my PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology at Sapienza University of Rome in 2025. During my master’s and doctoral studies, under the mentorship of Prof. Irene Bozzoni, I investigated how circularRNAs regulate the expression of cancer-related genes at the post-transcriptional level.
