Claire Barber

Research Facilitation and Communications Officer

Professional Services role

I support a range of Ludwig Oxford Branch activities focussing on communications, public engagement, and events to highlight the branch and its achievements both internally and externally. I also work alongside the Scientific Writer and Facilitator to support researchers though the grant application process.

Background

I obtained a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Surrey before completing a PhD at The Pirbright Institute, where I investigated how African swine fever virus (ASFV) evades the host stress response. Following this, I worked at Immunocore, initially as a scientist in the infectious diseases drug discovery pipeline, before transitioning into the communications team where I managed internal communications activities and events.
