DPhil Student

research interests

My research interests lie in understanding the epigenome regulation in tumorigenesis, especially in investigating how aberrant chromatin remodelling and DNA methylation contribute to the transcriptional dysregulation, and further to cancer development. My DPhil project focuses specifically on the epigenetic control of bivalent genes in cancer, which will deploy a wide range of experimental and computational techniques spanning epigenomic sequencing, epigenome editing and multi-omics data analysis.

background

I’m a DPhil student shared by Dr. Marketa Tomkova and Prof. Richard White, funded by the Ludwig Cancer Research Institute. Before joining the lab, I completed my BEng in Bioengineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and was pursuing a MPhil degree in Biological Science (Genetics) at the University of Cambridge. I gained more and more interests in epigenetic regulation throughout my bachelor and master research experiences and later decided to pursue a PhD in the field of Cancer Epigenetics.
