Research Grade 7: £39,424 - £47,779 with a discretionary range to £53,483 p.a. (pro rata). This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist possessing experience in molecular biology and biochemistry and epigenetics.

Prof Skirmantas Kriaucionis' research group aims to elucidate the molecular function of DNA modifications in normal cells, leading to the understanding of how defective pathways contribute to the neoplasia. Prof Stefan N Constantinescu's group at Ludwig Oxford studies the link between signalling, epigenetic regulators, chromatin dynamics and differentiation in myeloid blood cancers. You will work in the interface of three groups with the goal of discovering mechanisms governing emergence of the secondary acute myelogenous leukaemia.

You will be responsible for managing your own academic research and administrative activities. You will participate in and contribute directly to scientific discussions with the other members of the research group and collaborators on the project. You will adapt existing and develop now scientific techniques and experimental protocols. You will also be responsible with others for the biological safety of the laboratory. 

It is essential that you hold a PhD degree (or close to completion) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline. It is also essential that you can demonstrate the ability to communicate research findings clearly and logically within a diverse research team. You must have a strong background in chromatin function and experience with standard molecular biology and chromatin investigation techniques.
