Ludwig Oxford Outreach Events

Oxford Open Doors 2025

Ludwig Oxford were pleased to take part in Oxford Open Doors 2025 once more. Together with our neighbouring units and institutes: Oncology; Centre for Immuno-Oncology; Jenner Institute; Oncology Clinical Trials Office and Centre for Medicines Discovery, we opened the doors of the Old Road Campus Research Building to the public.

Each institute ran a stall showcasing some of the research produced by our researchers and some games and activities designed to demonstrate how the scientific experiments work to create the medical therapeutics Oxford is proud to deliver.

We were delighted to welcome over 100 members of the public, from young scientists of the future to locals interested in seeing what goes on within the Old Road Campus. From matching MRI scans to the correct chocolate bar, making your name in a DNA coded key chain to fighting cancer cells in an immunology themed video game – there was plenty to interest everyone!

A huge thank you must go to our tireless volunteers, in particular Hannah P who, having submitted her DPhil thesis, took time out of her medical degree to join us. Thanks also to the organisers at the Oxford Preservation Trust for their hard work in arranging the event.

We look forward to welcoming you to visit us next year!
